I am a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Neurosurgery, with a specialization in functional neurosurgery. My clinical practice focuses on the surgical management of movement disorders, neuromodulation in epilepsy, and the surgical management of trigeminal neuralgia. I have a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Calgary, where I focused on using non-invasive brain stimulation and fMRI to modulate macroscale brain networks in clinical populations. My research focus is in understanding and optimizing deep brain stimulation, by investigating network mechanisms with fMRI and gathering detailed clinical outcomes from my patients.
I am interested in investigating macroscale neural networks using fMRI in various neurosurgical clinical populations, including Parkinson’s disease, brain tumours, epilepsy, and normal pressure hydrocephalus. I have an interest in investigating the effects of neuromodulation or other surgical interventions on large scale brain networks, and using this information to understand clinical outcomes.
