Dr. Scott Ramsay is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, UBC, and a Nurse Clinician at BC Children’s Hospital. He uses his lived experience with concussion to guide his research program on acquired brain injury. Clinically, he works clinically in the Neurological Care Centre with a variety of neurological conditions.
My work addresses the role of health services and nurse-led care in pediatric health, specifically in relation to acquired brain injury. Acquired brain injury covers a variety of areas, including traumatic brain injuries to acquired conditions, such as stroke. They cause a disruption in normal body functions regulated by the nervous system. Health research for children and youth with acquired brain injury is limited; there are also gaps in health services research for children and youth with these conditions. The ultimate goal of my research program is to enhance health care for children and youth living with these neurological conditions in BC.
