Alex Wiesman is an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Physiology & Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University and is also the Scientific Director of their brain imaging Core Facility (ImageTech Lab). Before this, Alex was a NIH F31 Doctoral Fellow at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and then a CIHR Banting and NIH F32 Postdoctoral Fellow at the Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital of McGill University. His research combines magnetoencephalography (MEG), MRI, and positron emission tomography (PET) to understand how the signaling of the brain deteriorates in age-related disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, with a focus on improving patient well-being.
